1. When did you first go on line?
I had email and did a little surfing in 1996. My son-in-law bought one of the first classics sold in the state of Georgia. He let me set up a secondary user for email. We moved to Virginia in 1997 and I did without email and surfing for a while.   March 9, 1999 was the day I got my first truly personal computer at work and also the day I bought and hooked up my PM Plus.

  2. Did you start with MSNTV?
  At home, yes.

  3. Do you now have a PC and MSNTV ?
  Yes.

  4. Which do you use most?
  PC.

  5. What is your passion on line?
Helping others, creating tools and pushing the limits of what these LBBs can do.

  6. What led you into your passion....who was your mentor?
I can not truthfully say that I had a specific mentor.  I studied the work of webwizard (Jerry), Mike Endymion and others. I also visited a few NGs and got help.

  7. What got you started ?
My son-in-law sent me an email with a sig and I was hooked.

  8. How did you learn?
I was pointed to the Texas Angel's help pages, Draac, and The Source.  I mostly learned by trial and error on The Source's test bed.  I had three web pages coded before I even had a clue how to get them on line. I was storing the codes in my Hotmail account.

9.What advice would give someone who would like to learn how?
Start simple and learn to build step-wise.  Do not try to make a complicated work all in one edit session.  When working with scripts, copy your work, as a back up, before attempting long edits.  Build tables one row at the time.  Make DHTML pages one function and one object at the time.

  10. What, in your opinion, is the hardest part ?
When scripting on the LBB, there is no debugger, and fatal errors are often hard to find.

  11. What new endeavors are you pursuing?
I have collected thousands of icons and have created dozens myself. My script to display images in a subdirectory would not display until all images loaded.  I have modified it to load top to bottom and need to make a few links and index pages. Hopefully I can find time to complete this project soon.  I have over 100 new directories of icons to add to my graphics pages.

  12. What's the funniest or most embarrassing incident that you remember about being on MSNTV ?
I would have to say that my most embarrassing moments were posts in NGs.  Once I was putting a very complicated html doc in the body of a post and misspelled <html>.   <htmk> does not work well, and of course my code was hanging out as naked as a jay bird.    Accidentally posting to an NG when meaning to send private email has also caused me to blush a few times.

  13.  Which of your own pages are your favorites ?
My favorite artistic pages are my windchime page and my magic site.

Chimes

Magic

They contain numerous parts and take our LBBs to the limit.

My favorite tool (that I share) is my directory mover hosted on the Webbyland server.  I get emails almost everyday from folks who find it useful in moving their sites. I wish more WebTV tool makers would take advantage of Arbors generous offer to host their tools. Snagger
